Kagoshima Trip December 1996
Sakurajima20 students had successfully completed a Ten days inter-culture exchange program jointly organized by Asakusa (Ikoma) Language School and Kagoshima Prefecture Office (Japan).

The students experienced various Japanese traditional culture like Origami,Sadou (Japanese Tea Ceremony), Mochi-tsuki (making of Japanese Rice Cake), dressed up in traditional Japanese Kimono in the Kagoshima Prefecture, KAPIC Center.  The students had an opportunity to learn in Kagoshima City, where they were given separate tasks such as; gathering information on a designated historical realm, they were also divided into groups to find their way around in Kagoshima City on their own. The students also experienced Home-stay at Kanoya City in Kagoshima for three days. During the stay they visited the infamous Sakurajima Volcano, Kirishima Shrine, Takachiho Ranch and Iso Garden among others.
 
Sapporo Trip December 1997
1997 in SapporoAsakusa (Ikoma) Language School collaborated with Sapporo City-Singapore Branch and held a Ten days inter-culture exchange program at Sapporo City, Hokkaido.

20 students was involved in this program, they had a Four-day Home-stay in Sapporo City and was invited to stay in Sapporo Guest House for Two Nights.
The students experienced cultural program in the Guest House like Japanese Calligraphy, Kimono Dress-up, attended a Symphony Concert (kindly sponsored by Sapporo City Inter-Culture Exchange Office), one day visit to Otaru City, ski experience (a must), Task Learning in Sapporo City and visited most of the tourist spot.
 
Nagasaki Trip October 1998
1998 in Nagasaki1998 October, Nagasaki Prefecture Mayor invited Asakusa (Ikoma) Language School to hold a Ten days Inter-Culture Exchange program in its beautiful city.

22 students took part in this program, we stop over at Fukuoka City for Two nights and did our Task Learning in Hakata (Fukuoka) and visited a Japanese Calligraphy School where students had their chance to experience the Japanese Traditional Shodou (calligraphy).

We proceeded to Nagasaki City from Fukuoka City by JR train and received a generous welcome reception from the Mayor and his staff.

We were then invited to stay in the Nagasaki Girls` High School Hostel for Two Nights, had a friendly match of Badminton with the students and join in to their class to experience the Japanese Education System (account, computer and English lesson).

The students did a Three-night Home-stay in the famous pottery/porcelain manufacturing Town "Hasami". At the town, the students experienced both traditional and advance way of making pottery/porcelain.

We also had a Three-night Home-stay in Nagasaki City where they were also shown warm hospitality of Japan, a One-day visit to Holland Village and a day trip to the Uzen Hotspring.

Our students prepared 3,000 pieces of Paper Crane before leaving for the trip and offered all of them to the Peace Park in Nagasaki City for Peace and Harmony throughout the world.

We also had the opportunity to visit the Atomic bomb Museum in Nagasaki City and other places of interest, all entrance fees were kindly sponsored by the Mayor of Nagasaki.
